A big bonus for us, when we decided to buy our hardwood flooring instead of producing it ourselves, is that we no longer had to think “how can we best produce and promote our own products from existing stock.” Instead, we were free to travel throughout Brazil, identifying the best products available and negotiating the lowest prices to be passed on to our customers. Producers who had previously been “the competition” were now potential trading partners. Of course, after many years working in the Brazilian timber business, we already knew many producers very well. Nevertheless, BRBR’s director travelled extensively through the North of Brazil, renewing old acquaintances, making new ones and examining the quality and environmental origins of many types of flooring. It helped a lot that some family members are still living in Brazil and working in the timber business!
In Vitória Régia's own words (translated from Portuguese by Nick Burch)
Your floors, at one with nature
Elegant, functional and easy to install, a new concept in ecologically friendly flooring came out of research into more efficient use of raw materials and the recycling of offcuts from the primary production line. The result is Ecoflooring®.
Comprising three layers (hardwood, recycled hardwood offcuts and plywood) Ecoflooring is much more stable than whole, solid boards – and equally durable.
By making use of recycled hardwood, which other manufacturers discard and burn, the environmental impact is reduced by 200%, allowing us to enhance our homes with the beauty of natural timber, whilst preserving the natural environment.
Ecoflooring is practical flooring, made with boards that slot together easily to guarantee the simplest installation and reducing labour and associated costs.
Perfect in all situations, the quality of the machining, finish and varnish, give that special touch you look for in your home.
State of the art technology for floors that last a lifetime.
Vitória Régia's floors were designed to withstand changes in temperature, pressure and humidity. By employing groundbreaking technology at every phase of the manufacturing process, Vitória Régia produce incredibly hard wearing floors, which retain their charm, even with the passage of time. Being committed to the preservation of the Amazonian forest, when making their flooring, Vitória Régia maximise the yield from their raw material and recycle the offcuts from the primary production process. In this way, the finest and unblemished timber is reserved for the upper layer, which demands the greatest elegance and resilience, being the part which is both seen and walked upon. The middle layer is also made of top quality hardwood, of pieces too narrow or short for a face board, but now expertly joined and utilised. Lastly, the bottom layer is of plywood, all resulting in a floor which is ecologically favourable, beautiful and more stable than any other wooden flooring on the market.
Ecoflooring, because we want forests forever.
